8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Classes are held monthly, you will receive the required training along with range time to be able to apply for your Illinois Concealed Carry License. We also hold renewal classes along with other training courses such as Defensive Shooting Fundamentals and Competitions.
What do you need for the class:
- Pistol (semi-auto or revolver)
- 2-3 Magazines if applicable to your pistol
- 50 Rounds of ammo
- Holster specific to your pistol (Kydex holster preferred)
- Belt for holster
- Eye protection
- Ear protection
- Long pants
- Closed toed shoes
- Hat (optional)
- NO loose clothing, tank top or anything that would be open to spent brass
- Bring a jacket, even in the summer, may not need it but it may be cooler on the range then think.
- Patience, Understanding, Open Mind, Clean Language and a Good Attitude!
Even though you are required by the state to take this class there is a lot of important information and training included. Don't think of it as something you have to do, think of it as another step in your training for firearms and self-defense protection.
Here are the requirements
for the firearms qualification portion:
Live Fire Scoring: Students are required to fire
a minimum of 30 rounds on a B-27 target approved by the Illinois State Police
with 10 rounds at a distance of 5 yards, 10 rounds at a distance of 7 yards,
and 10 rounds at a distance of 10 yards. The applicant must hit a minimum of 70
percent of the rounds on the target.
